Swiss watch-making has undergone centuries of evolution, from the glamorous beginning establishment in the early 18th century and the downfall from the quartz crisis in the 1970s, to the recent glorious revival in the 1980s.

La Chaux-de-Fonds, known as the “Cradle of Swiss Watch-making”, is where numerous famous master watchmakers were nurtured during that golden period of evolution. Mr. Gaulcherus was a watch-making apprentice in the 1960s. During the golden time of quartz watches in the 1970s, mechanical watches were shoved off the center stage and became off fashion. At this time, Mr. Gaulcherus decided to immigrate to New York with his family and he continued his interest and carrier of watch-making with European traditional watch-making techniques. He continued his traditional spirit of watch-making which focused on functionality and applied new design concepts to his watches. Mr. Gaulcherus later found the brand “GLITTERATI” and his goal for generations and beyond, was to allow “GLITTERATI” watches to be treasured as master pieces that are both pragmatic and beautiful.
